Getting help
Write to support@gao.global. Tell us what you were trying to do, what you saw instead, and which Gao you are using: the line under Me › About Gao in the app names the version, and that line is enough. We confirm receipt and reply by email. This is also the address for safety concerns about something you saw or someone you met through Gao.
Nobody from Gao will ever ask for your recovery phrase, your private keys or a code from your wallet. If anyone does — whoever they say they are — it is a scam. We cannot access, recover or reverse anything in your wallet.
Your account
Gao offers three different actions, and they do different things. Choose the one you mean.
- Sign out. Ends the current session on that device. Your account, your profile and your other devices are unaffected.
- Remove account from this device. Takes your account, and the wallet that unlocks it, off that one device. Your account and everything in it stay where they are; your 24-word recovery phrase brings them back on any device.
- Delete Gao App account. Deletes your Gao App account and the data Gao App holds about you. Your Gao ID, your wallet and your recovery phrase are not deleted. What deletion deletes, what it keeps without your name and what it never touches is set out on the account deletion page.
All three are in the app under Me. If you no longer have the app, the account deletion page explains how to ask for deletion by email instead.
When something does not work
- Signing in. Gao signs you in with your Gao ID, which your wallet unlocks on your device. If the app says it cannot reach the Gao ID service, the problem is on our side or on the connection between us; nothing about your account has changed, and signing in again a little later is the right thing to do.
- Gao World and nearby. Places, events and people near you need your location. Without location access Gao cannot show what is near you; you can change the permission in your device settings at any time.
- Ask Gao. An answer from a model is not always available. When it is not, Gao says so rather than guessing.
- Anything else. Tell us what you saw, in your own words, at the address above. A screenshot helps when a message is short.
Privacy requests
Questions about what Gao keeps about you, and deletion requests made by email, go to privacy@gao.global. The Privacy Policy describes what Gao keeps on your device, what it keeps on our servers, and what is sent to others.
Legal
The Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy are the documents that govern Gao. The same documents are linked from the app under Me › About Gao and are shown before you create or recover a wallet.
